Phnom Krom

The best sunsets around Siem Reap can be enjoyed from the ruins of Phnom Krom. Sadly, on the afternoon I went out there, the clouds rolled in. The site is close to the Tonle Sab lake, home of a huge floating village.

Pondering life in a hammock under a straw roof while the rain clatters away outside was pretty relaxing. The raindrops of a beginning storm are the side of a fist, with the same painful impact when they hit you.

The site itself was not much to look at, but it was nicely situated. Undoubtedly, a sunset here would be beautiful.
